Our Story as per Sangeeta

"You are what I thought I never needed but never knew you are the one I always wanted."

Mom informed two days prior to their arrival that I better be ready as Prakash’s family was to come to our place. Gosh! Should I silently run away from home? was the first thought that came to my mind since I was not mentally prepared for it. But then was pretty confident that with my antics this guy was to surely say ta-ta bye-bye to me.

The transition from jeans and funky top to a salwar kameez and bindi happened in exact 7 minutes and was waiting for the guests. After 5 minutes I was summoned to the main room. Without knowing how to react and lack of practice in this area (as it was my first time), I met the guests with a polite ‘Hi’ not realizing that I was stupidly smiling throughout. Ten minutes had already passed and I had still not seen the guy (who I was told looks very cute). Atlast I finally saw him and ’Yes he was cute’.

We then started talking and managed to hit it off pretty well for a first meeting. The next day I got to know that another meeting was lined up to have a detailed discussion. We met; we spoke, discussed things about each other and finally bid each other good bye after good 4 hours of talking. I still don’t know what we spoke so much for such a long time for just a second meeting.

Slowly we got to know each other well and became good friends. We started hanging out a lot and the best part was that I didn’t have to be a pretentious with him and could be as normal as I am in my daily life. Initially we both got a culture shock about each other’s lifestyle and personality but then I realized that this guy was sweet and simple and I would be a fool to say no to him.

After frequent phone calls and hangouts, it was only natural to graduate to a formal relationship and thus we got engaged on 8th Sept 2013 marking the beginning of a new journey. We have our set of fights (I fight and he calms me down    ), beautiful moments, sad phases, fun times but in the end its all worth it because its fun doing it together.

As I pen down our story so far for this website, we are busy preparing for our wedding. People ask "so are you excited about the wedding?” I say “no time for excitement when you are buried in so much of preparatory work”. Gotta rush. See you at the wedding.
